Funding for these programs is provided in part through the Recreational Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities Grant from NJ Department of Community Affairs . The purpose of this grant is to provide funding for individualized, inclusive recreational programming for individuals with disabilities.
Meadowedge Social Club “A Place Where Everyone Fits In”
is located at 550 E Bay Ave. Barnegat. Meadowedge is an inclusive Social Club offering encouragement, experiences and exposure to new opportunities for people age 14 & up with special needs. A place for members and families to build friendships, learn ans interact with each other. It offers games, trips and fun 4 nights/week Monday-Thursday. This free program for individuals with special needs will be offered Friday’s Sept. 15 – Nov. 3 7-8pm at the Russell O. Brackman Middle School 600 Barnegat Blvd. The program is open to individuals ages 5-21. Care givers MUST stay with their children during the program. Please print out registration form and bring to the recreation center prior to the first session. If you can not come in, please fax to 698-1302 or email email@example.com Registration forms are also accepted in person each Friday night.
“Barnegat Recreation Accessibility for Individuals with Special Needs”
is a social club designed for children ages 5-14 who may or may not have special needs. This inclusive club offering after-school programs year round. The club includes sports, indoor & outdoor playground games and other recreational activities. The club is based out of the Barnegat Recreation Center located at 900 W Bay Ave, behind the Police Department. The “Get your Game on” programs are facilitated by Meredith Jackstadt and her staff.
