Chief A. Drexler: Thank you to all who helped make this accreditation possible, it was a two-year long process that everyone from records clerk to essential personnel assisted with in making this tedious process a team effort.

  1. Administrator’s Report

D. Breeden: Barnegat received preliminary approval for the CAFRA town center, which will attract businesses to downtown.  Congratulations to Police Department on accreditation, protecting the Township against most litigation.  Read letter from Fire Chief referencing review of site plan for fire protection for the COAH property Route 9, he finds it acceptable.   County Tax meeting was a fact finding meeting, explained our situation, this discussion on state-wide tax assessments will be an on-going process for corrective action.  Explained items on this agenda, hand out provided for explanation of Ordinance 2011-21, made a part of these minutes.  Township will take every avenue to secure any financial assistance for these items, grant funding on the Federal level is very competitive.

  1. Public Portion:

Motion to Open Public Comment: L. Morano             Second: A. Bille

All are in favor

Marianne Clemente – 565 E. Bay Ave: wants workshop meetings to work through issues before they come to a resolution.

Attorney: responded with the process for public discussion, advertisement and adoption as per the law.

Vince Green – 89 Sandpiper Road: Nothing was accomplished by meeting with County.  Admin: This is going to be an on-going process throughout the state; we did discuss what was in the best interest of Barnegat residents.  M. Lisella: if you are dissatisfied with your assessment you can, file an appeal.

Frank Pecci – 11 Hemlock Dr: I would look at the budget again; there are items on this bond already in the budget.

Jake Taylor – 106 Newark Road: What is the cost associated with the bond? Admin: cost of process, approximately a couple of thousand dollars.  Fire access road should be behind COAH property on Route 9 due to development size.  Development too large for lot size, but zoning board approved site plan.  We need to live within our means.
